Flackstock 2025

What is Flackstock?

Flackstock is an annual music festival and fundraiser held in memory of Caroline Flack, the beloved Love Island presenter who tragically passed away in February 2020. Designed as both celebration and sanctuary, the event brings together music, mindfulness, and community spirit to honour Caroline’s joyful legacy.

Founded by her family—mother Christine, sister Jody—and close friends like Dawn O’Porter, the festival has grown into a standout summer fixture in London. Over the years, it’s raised more than £700,000 for mental health charities Caroline cared deeply about: Mind, Samaritans, Choose Love, Charlie Waller Trust, and the Flackstock Fund.

I am grateful to be invited to present a workshop here this year. Have you got your tickets yet?

The Heart & Purpose At its core, Flackstock is:

  • A tribute with heart: Caroline’s vibrant personality and compassionate spirit shines through every part of the festival.

  • A mental health catalyst: By funding key charities, it aims to open honest conversations and support for mental well‑being.

  • A joyful gathering: The atmosphere is celebratory—family-friendly, inclusive, and encouraging everyone to come together in remembrance and light.

Dawn O’Porter, co‑founder, describes it as a “place full of joy where people felt comfortable talking about mental health,” and that the event “became so much more” than just remembrance

Highlights: Music, Wellness & “Carrie‑Oke”

🎤 The Line‑Up (Friday 8 August – 4 pm onward)

  • Alfie Boe – Legendary tenor brings gravitas and emotion

  • Boyzlife – The 90s lads (Nicky Byrne & Keith Duffy) make their Flackstock debut

The Bigger Picture: Healing Through Music & Community

Flackstock is as much a movement as it is a festival:

  • Mental‑health impact: Over £700k raised to date—charities receive funds and visibility

  • Safe space ethos: Attendees report feeling “heard, held, and empowered” within a celebratory yet empathetic community.

  • Holistic experience: Wellness (mindfulness tents), food vendors, bars, VIP tents, and family zones create a well-rounded day for all ages

  • Family involvement: Caroline’s own mother and sister remain at the helm, ensuring it stays personally grounded and true to her memory.

Dates, Venue, and Vibe

  • When: Friday, 8 August 2025 (a symbolic date—the Lion’s Gate Portal, known for its cosmic energy, falls on 8/8).

  • Time: Doors open around 2 pm, with music kicking off by 4 pm and a 10:30 pm curfew

  • Where: The iconic Crystal Palace Bowl, nestled in South London—a fitting new home surrounded by trees, open space, and a lakeside stage

  • Vibe: Family-friendly, wooded, lakeside, with room for comedy, mindfulness, dancing—and plenty of feel-good energy .

Attendees describe it as “the perfect introduction to festival season for all the family”

Why It Matters

  • Purpose beyond entertainment: It’s a tribute, a fundraiser, and a platform to destigmatise mental-health discourse.

  • Legacy of love: Caroline’s empathy and joy live on—not with sadness, but with strength, song, and solidarity.

  • Festival for all: Accessible, intergenerational, rooted in compassion—Flackstock stands apart from typical summer fest.

Flackstock stands out as a festival of joy, remembrance, and collective healing. Set in the magical Crystal Palace Bowl, on the energetically charged day of 8 August, it blends music, mindfulness, and memories into a cohesive, life-affirming experience:

  • An act of love by Caroline’s family and friends.

  • A rallying point for mental-health awareness and fundraising.

  • A musical journey across decades—from 00s pop to classical tenor to modern beats.

  • A spiritually resonant celebration aligned with cosmic energies.

Whether you’re drawn by nostalgia, community, mindfulness, or simply a sunny summer festival, Flackstock offers it all—wrapped in Caroline Flack’s infectious vitality and enduring legacy.

So mark 8 August 2025, bring your voice, your heart, and your spirit—and join a festival that’s about healing through harmony, celebration through solidarity, and love through legacy.

In The Spiritual Spotlight

Jo O'Meara

When I asked Jo if she’d be this month’s Spiritual Spotlight, her response was beautifully humble:

“I don’t really think of myself as spiritual.”

And yet, Jo’s journey tells a different story—one of strength, compassion, resilience, and heart.

Jo first rose to fame in the late ’90s as the powerhouse voice behind S Club, becoming part of a band that not only topped charts but defined a generation. With platinum albums, global tours, a hit TV show, and the iconic anthem “Don’t Stop Movin”,  Jo’s voice has been the soundtrack to many lives.

But beyond the spotlight, Jo is someone who leads with kindness and authenticity. She has faced life’s challenges with honesty and grace, using her platform to raise awareness around issues close to her heart, including animal welfare and mental health.

Spirituality isn’t always found in crystals, rituals or meditation. Sometimes, it’s in the quiet strength of a person who continues to show up for others, who brings light through music, who speaks truth even when it’s hard.

Jo reminds us that you don’t need to call yourself spiritual to be living a deeply soul-led life.

She is spiritual—because she lives with love, purpose, and care.
